Habitat

Dear Crew,

I used to think I had to distill all my expression into a single form—into that one book , that one program , that one stance—as if everything had to tell the whole story all at once.

Today, I believe something different.

A forest isn't made up of just one tree, either. It's made up of clearings. Paths. Mushrooms. Roots. Moss. And the life in between.

Maybe that's exactly what ideas need. Not a form right away. But a place.

Instead of a business, I cultivate a sense of being. A habitat where thoughts, encounters, books, dance, conversations, and music can all flourish side by side.

Some things become a love letter. Some things become a book. Some things become a dance. Some things start out as just a note. And some things take years to take shape.

I used to want to understand everything right away. Now I quietly plant a few seeds and wait patiently to see what grows from them.

I have dream spaces. For books. For music. For collaborations. For ideas that don’t have a name yet. There, they’re free to come together. To evolve. To influence one another. Without me having to bring them to life right away.

I think that's exactly why I love the word "habitat." It doesn't describe a plan. Rather, it describes the conditions under which life can emerge.

A dream space is not a place where ideas are put into action right away. A dream space is a place where ideas and longings are allowed to live on until they find their own form.

Perhaps that is also the difference between creating and cultivating. Creating often seeks to be visible quickly. Cultivating trusts that growth takes its own time.

Don't build any more. Just live there.

Don't just keep collecting. Let it grow instead .

With love and a few seeds in hand,
Jeannette
